Bustling customs clearance of goods at the end of the year

Currently, import and export activities are very active at the border gates of Lang Son province.

According to statistics, the daily cargo volume is high and continuously increasing with an average of over 1,300 vehicles/day, equivalent to about 25,000 – 30,000 tons of goods per day. Forces at the border gate are providing solutions to ensure optimal customs clearance time for goods, meeting the increasing trade demand from now until the end of the year.

Every two days, Ms. Hoang Thi Yen Tuyet (Phuc Dat Import-Export Company, Lang Son) goes to Huu Nghi border gate to complete customs clearance procedures for electronic components imported to Vietnam. As the end of the year approaches, domestic production orders pile up, so her company has to divide its staff to go to the border gates to promptly deliver goods to customers.

Not only has the volume of imported and exported components increased, but the number of containers exporting agricultural products and electronic products has also increased significantly since October this year. For example, at Ms. Hoang Thi Le’s business (Blue Sky Import-Export Trading Company Limited), nearly 50 trucks of goods will clear customs through Huu Nghi Border Gate every day to export to China.

“Currently, my company mainly exports jackfruit, durian and fresh coconut. To get a truck through, especially agricultural products, depends on the lane. The green lane takes about 3-4 minutes, and the yellow lane takes about 5-7 minutes,” Ms. Le shared.

Currently, import and export activities of goods are bustling at the border gates of Lang Son province.

A representative of the Lang Son Province Border Gate Management Center said that in the first 10 months of this year, the border gates here cleared 1,300 – 1,500 trucks of goods every day, and this number is expected to increase further during the last two peak months of the year.

Mr. Nong Hai Thang – Deputy Director of Lang Son Province Border Gate Management Center said: “We regularly exchange and coordinate with relevant agencies on the Chinese side to agree on measures to promote import and export through the border gates of both sides; at the same time, we have agreed with the Chinese side to repeatedly extend customs clearance time by 2 hours/day”.

The authorities said they are urgently organizing the construction of a smart border gate on the dedicated freight transport route in the area of landmarks 1119-1120 and 1088/2-1089 of the Huu Nghi International Border Gate (Vietnam) – Huu Nghi Quan (China) pair according to the Project approved by the Prime Minister to promote trade between Vietnam and China in the coming time.
