Ready to exploit each section of Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway

The Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway project, with a length of 58 km through Dong Nai province, Ho Chi Minh City and Long An, started construction in 2014.

Vehicles will not have to go through densely populated areas. Many national highways will also be reduced. These are the benefits when the Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway project is put into operation this November. This is also one of the important traffic routes connecting the Western region with the Eastern region of Ho Chi Minh City.

Dozens of machines, equipment and human resources were mobilized for the remaining 300m to open the section from Phuoc An intersection to National Highway 51 intersection, Dong Nai province. With a length of more than 7km, this project section will help reduce the load on National Highway 51.

Mr. Pham Hong Linh – Manager of the Eastern area of the Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway project said: “We have gathered enough materials and worked overtime to carry out the construction, trying to meet the traffic opening schedule”.

The western area of the Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway project has also completed the final stages. This November, nearly 4 km will be put into operation connecting the Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong expressway intersection to the National Highway 1 intersection, Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Ngo Anh Sang – Manager of the Western area of the Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway project shared: “Before the Lunar New Year, the section from the exit of Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong to Nguyen Van Tao intersection, about 21 km long, will be opened.”

The project management representative said that the project has now completed most of the road items. At this time, favorable weather also helps the project to speed up its progress.

Mr. Dang Huu Vi – Director of the Southern Project Management Board, Vietnam Expressway Corporation, commented: “By April 30, the entire route will be open for about 30 km, but the section from Nguyen Van Tao intersection to Phuoc An intersection related to Binh Khanh and Phuoc Khanh bridges cannot be opened or completed yet.”

The opening of the first and last sections of the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway project will reduce pressure on many roads in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Vung Tau. This will not only meet traffic needs but also help prevent waste in public investment.

The Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway project, with a length of 58 km through Dong Nai province, Ho Chi Minh City and Long An, started construction in 2014. However, in 2019, the project had to be suspended due to policy changes and will restart in mid-2023. Currently, the project investor has also set a target of completing the entire route in the third quarter of 2025.
