Ba Ria-Vung Tau: Industrial zones are bustling with new projects

Ba Ria – Vung Tau has granted new investment registration certificates to many enterprises in industrial parks in this province.

On November 16, the leader of Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park (Phu My Town, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province ) said that in just the past week, 2 Japanese corporations have started construction of factories in this industrial park.

Showa Sangyo Group (Japan) started construction of a ready-mixed powder factory in Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park.

Specifically, on November 14, Showa Sangyo Group started construction of a premixed powder factory project with a total investment of more than 500 billion VND.The project is divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 is the production and processing of premixed flours used in food (pancake flour, octopus flour, fried flour, sponge cake flour, fried flour, crispy fried flour, breadcrumbs, dry coating flour…) with a capacity of 19,000 tons/year. Phase 2 produces mixed sugar (a mixture of sugar, starch and food additives) used in food processing , with a capacity of 1,000 tons/year.

Phase 1 of the project is expected to be completed and put into operation in the second quarter of 2026; phase 2 will be put into operation in the third quarter of 2027.

Previously, on November 8, also in Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park , Tosoh Group held a groundbreaking ceremony for the first MDI chemical factory in Vietnam. The factory has a scale of 12 hectares, with a total investment of 4,230 billion VND. The project aims to produce basic chemical products, MDI organic chemicals, with a capacity of 125,000 tons of products per year, using modern and environmentally friendly technology.

According to the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, in October 2024, new investment registration certificates were issued for 3 projects in industrial parks, with a total investment capital of nearly 2,700 billion VND and 8 million USD.

Specifically, the Vina One corrugated iron factory project in Chau Duc Industrial Park has a scale of 800,000 tons of products/year, with a registered investment capital of VND2,500 billion; the household furniture hardware factory project in Chau Duc Industrial Park has a scale of 9,500 tons of products/year, with a registered investment capital of USD8 million; the factory project for manufacturing, processing and installing mechanical structures, prefabricated steel frames… in Dat Do I Industrial Park has a scale of 10,000 tons of products/year, with a registered investment capital of VND199 billion.

Up to now, in the industrial parks of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, there are 606 valid investment projects, including 290 domestic investment projects and 316 foreign investment projects.
