Da Nang aims to become a key high-tech, marine economic and logistics supply chain center in the Central region by 2045.
Da Nang is transforming strongly with the goal of becoming a high-tech center, marine economy and key logistics supply chain in the Central region by 2045. This is part of Resolution 169/NQ-CP that the Government has just issued, identifying Da Nang as a major marine economic center of the country, an international coastal city and a regional financial center.
According to the resolution, Da Nang will form a Free Trade Zone, develop high-quality information technology, healthcare and education services. In particular, Da Nang is the first locality allowed to research and pilot a Free Trade Zone, which is expected to strongly promote investment and expand production.
Infrastructure plays a key role in the development strategy, with the Lien Chieu Seaport project expected to invest more than VND52,000 billion along with important hubs such as Da Nang International Airport. These projects are expected to be the driving force for the city to become a regional and international cargo transit center, while attracting FDI capital flows.
The tourism boom has also contributed significantly to economic growth. In 2024, Da Nang is expected to welcome more than 10.3 million visitors, earning about VND38,000 billion, far exceeding the “peak” of 2019. Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increased by 6.5%, while budget revenue reached VND21,064 billion, up 29.5% over the previous year.
In addition, the real estate market in Da Nang has also recorded positive signals. Primary apartment prices have increased sharply, especially in the Class A segment. Reports from DKRA Consulting and the Vietnam Real Estate Brokers Association show that real estate demand here continues to grow thanks to the impact of large infrastructure projects. With an increasingly clear legal corridor, along with the synchronous development of infrastructure and free trade zones, the Da Nang real estate market will have the opportunity to break through in the near future, becoming one of the most attractive areas in Vietnam.
Methodical investment, clear strategic orientation and specific mechanisms from the Government are turning Da Nang into a new growth pole, not only in the Central region but also in the whole country.
