This year’s Vietnam Sustainable Enterprise Assessment and Announcement Program (CSI) recognizes the remarkable progress of Vietnamese enterprises in transforming their awareness, actions and sustainable business practices.
On the evening of November 29, in Hanoi , the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) held a ceremony to announce sustainable enterprises in Vietnam 2024 with the theme: Enterprises striving in the green era.
This year’s CSI attracted nearly 500 businesses to submit applications, and the organizing committee selected 142 applications for official evaluation. The CSI 2024 index records new adjustments and updates to content related to international commitments and important changes in the domestic legal framework that businesses need to pay attention to.
Of the 153 assessment indicators of CSI 2024, 62% are compliance indicators and 38% are advanced indicators, aiming to comprehensively evaluate enterprises in terms of: economic efficiency – corporate governance – society – environment.
In particular, the CSI 2024 index set has the most quantified indicators in the 9 years of program implementation, requiring businesses to have a system for monitoring and calculating data that emphasizes topical issues of sustainable business : assessing the two-way impact between businesses and the environment.
Enterprises must calculate figures such as: net revenue from activities in areas with significant impacts on climate; operating costs, investment costs allocated to plans and activities related to sustainable development.
At the CSI 2024 announcement ceremony, VCCI honored 100 outstanding sustainable enterprises in both manufacturing and trade – services. Of which, the top 10 sustainable enterprises this year in the two above fields recorded a rate of 50% domestic enterprises and 50% foreign-invested enterprises. This shows that domestic enterprises have made great progress and the sustainable development game is no longer just for FDI enterprises with good governance foundations.
