Nvidia Corporation will establish an Artificial Intelligence Research and Development Center and an Artificial Intelligence Data Center in Vietnam, making Vietnam one of the three global Artificial Intelligence research and development centers of the corporation. This is the first result from the Cooperation Agreement between the Vietnamese Government and the Corporation. VTV reporter had an interview with the Founder and Chairman of Nvidia Corporation – Mr. Jensen Hoang.

PV: As you proudly declared, “Today is Nvidia Vietnam’s birthday.” So can you share more about your plans and next steps?

Mr. Jensen Hueng – Founder, Chairman of Nvidia Corporation: We went to Nvidia headquarters in Vietnam to meet 150 employees there and spent a lot of time here. One of the three core tasks is to create an environment and infrastructure for in-depth research on artificial intelligence. For example, Nvidia and Viettel have a very close cooperation to create an AI cloud platform specifically for Vietnam. When we have this platform, researchers, students, engineers, and startups will have the infrastructure to research, program machines, and develop businesses. Therefore, our first step is to build the infrastructure and operating chain in Vietnam.

* Vietnam has the advantage of possessing talent, as you said, it needs AI infrastructure. In fact, not many investors are confident in building in a foreign market. So what conditions made Nvidia choose Vietnam?

– When we have the infrastructure for AI, which includes talent and intelligence as I affirmed above, how can we have an ecosystem? All of these require pioneering and daring to break through and pave the way. That is also what I noticed from the Prime Minister. Vietnamese enterprises have the strength to seize opportunities, are sensitive to the market, startups and large enterprises such as Vingroup, FPT, Viettel help build human resources and infrastructure to meet the needs of AI research and development. This is a golden time for the future of AI, an opportunity for both Nvidia and Vietnam.
