Binh Duong aims to become the logistics center of the Southeast region

In the roadmap to develop Binh Duong into a centrally-governed city by 2030, Binh Duong province is attaching importance to logistics development and considering it an important economic sector in the development strategy, aiming to become a logistics center in the key economic region of the South.

Recently, realizing that infrastructure limitations are the main cause of increased input costs and logistics costs, Binh Duong province is focusing strongly on investing and upgrading a series of important routes. Typical projects include: Ring Road 3, Ring Road 4, Ho Chi Minh City – Thu Dau Mot – Chon Thanh Expressway, expanding National Highway 13 and investing in An Tay Port.

In particular, at the end of September, Binh Duong province officially put into operation the Bac Tan Uyen – Phu Giao – Bau Bang dynamic route, with a scale of 6 lanes, allowing speeds up to 80 km/h.

This route has shortened the time to transport goods from Dong Nai to Bau Bang to nearly 2 hours, reducing more than 1 hour compared to before and significantly saving costs for businesses, significantly reducing transportation time and logistics costs.

The goal for 2025 and the following years is for Binh Duong province to focus on building modern logistics infrastructure to meet the growing demand for freight transport, while contributing to reducing costs and improving competitiveness for businesses./.

In the development plan for the period 2021-2030, Binh Duong identifies logistics as a key economic sector in its development strategy with the orientation of becoming a satellite logistics center, serving industrial parks in the Southern key economic region. According to the plan, Binh Duong province aims to shift its economic structure, with the proportion of the service industry reaching 28% by 2025.
