Electric buses connecting to metro line 1 have their own beautiful ‘coat’

The electric bus routes will take people from residential areas, bus stations, high-tech zones, commercial centers, universities and colleges in Thu Duc City, Binh Thanh District, District 1… to metro stations.

The Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center said that 17 feeder bus routes – equivalent to 150 vehicles – connecting to the stations of metro line 1 are ready to serve passengers.

Phuong Trang Futabuslines Passenger Transport Joint Stock Company is the winning transport company to participate in the operation. 17 bus routes are numbered: 153, 154, 155, 156, 157, 158, 159, 160, 161, 162, 163, 164, 165, 166, 167, 168 and 169. All buses are electric, including two types of 30 and 60 seats.

These bus routes take people from residential areas, bus stations, high-tech zones, commercial centers, universities and colleges in Thu Duc City, Binh Thanh District, District 1… to metro stations. At the same time, they take people from metro stations to nearby places. This helps to optimize the passenger transport capacity of metro line 1, creating convenience for people to travel.

According to the Public Transport Management Center, bus identification by image is a solution to help people recognize the nature of the route through factors such as: color, route number, route name, logo, motifs, and characteristic images.

Therefore, before bidding to select an operating enterprise, this unit has developed a plan to identify buses connecting stations on metro line 1 with colors that harmoniously represent the combination of typical colors such as the public passenger transport system by bus (blue), metro line 1 (blue and white), the main color of Thu Duc City (yellow), and at the same time, green to show the direction towards green, environmentally friendly vehicles.

In addition, the route number and route name are shown by LED lights. The logo shows the logo of the Public Transport Management Center combined with the logo of the Ho Chi Minh City urban route. The typical motif and image used is the image of sunflower – the symbol of Thu Duc City.

“All 17 bus routes connecting to the metro are electric buses – environmentally friendly, with their own identification images. The map and specific routes of each bus route are clearly shown on information boards at stations and bus stops for people to easily follow. When officially operating, people can also view information on the Go!Bus app, use the automatic payment system…”, the leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center added.

To serve the operation of metro bus routes, Futabuslines has built 2 charging station systems in Thu Duc City to serve metro buses. In addition, it will take advantage of existing infrastructure nationwide, including bus stations, rest stops, etc. to build additional battery charging stations to meet the requirements of continuous operation.
