Goods discounted up to 60% to serve workers shopping for Tet

To help low-income earners, workers… shop for Tet with peace of mind, Ho Chi Minh City is organizing a mobile sale with hundreds of stabilized products, with discounts of up to 60%.

In addition to essential food items, the mobile market stabilization program has many branded and high-end goods that are also responded to by many market stabilization businesses with good promotions. Thereby, helping consumers, especially low-income workers, have access.

The 2025 Tet Mobile Sales – Market Stabilization Program will start from December 10, 2024 and last until January 5, 2025, and will be held in rotation at 7 locations in districts in Ho Chi Minh City, including districts 3, 4, 8, 10, 11, Phu Nhuan, and Tan Binh. In each locality, the program will take place for 3 days.

It is expected that this season’s program will reach about 500,000 people, attract more than 100,000 visitors and 50,000 purchases. With the meaningful message “Connecting consumers – Spreading love,” the program not only brings practical benefits to people but also contributes to affirming the position of Ho Chi Minh City as a modern, civilized and affectionate commercial center.

According to records, at supermarkets and markets in Ho Chi Minh City, goods for Tet At are also brightly displayed on the shelves. Retailers and food and food production enterprises are expecting that this Tet purchasing power will improve, and shopping will explode right at the beginning of December, because this year, the New Year falls in the middle of the week, close to the Lunar New Year.

Ms. Ly Kim Chi, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Food and Foodstuff Association, said that this is not the time for Tet shopping but the time for businesses to prepare and gather goods. 69 key businesses participating in market stabilization have finished working with manufacturers, ensuring the supply of essential goods in large quantities, of which stabilized goods account for about 40% of market demand.

The Ho Chi Minh City Food and Foodstuff Association has also increased its stockpiles for Tet by about 20-30% compared to last year’s Tet, and is trying to maintain prices.

According to Ms. Ly Kim Chi, the prices of raw materials for producing confectionery, soft drinks, vermicelli, noodles, dried pho… have all increased since mid-year, but the prices of goods for Tet this year will only be at the same level as last year. Many groups of goods have even been reduced in price by businesses to stimulate consumption, such as fresh food groups: pork, eggs, chicken, some processed products…

“I believe that consumer demand this year will be better, with increased shopping starting from the beginning of December and increasing sharply from the 10th, not being gloomy. We commit that no matter how much consumer demand there is, there will be no shortage of goods or price increases,” said Ms. Chi.
