Proposing a specific mechanism to support small and medium enterprises in tariff fluctuations

In the context of many fluctuations in tariffs, small and medium enterprises are in great need of special mechanisms for restructuring.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Finance, in the first quarter of 2025, the country had more than 72,900 newly registered and re-established enterprises, an increase of 18.6% over the same period last year. According to a VCCI survey, 32% of enterprises plan to expand production in the next 2 years. However, in the context of many fluctuations in tariffs, small and medium-sized enterprises are in great need of special mechanisms for restructuring.

With the specific nature of producing electronic components for export to the United States, supporting industry enterprises in Hanoi said that many of their May and June orders have been postponed pending official tax decisions. Reinvestment to expand the market is also an open question.

Not only is it difficult to access technology, businesses in many localities say that it is very difficult for them to access preferential capital for production due to their small scale. Therefore, they expect to have their own specific financial mechanisms.

In the context of fluctuating exports, experts say that the domestic market with 100 million people is an important driving force supporting the 8% growth target. However, to stimulate production, it is also necessary to boost market consumption.

Enterprises also expect that the Resolution on private economic development will soon be issued by the Politburo, creating conditions for private enterprises to upgrade their scale, take the lead in applying technology and innovation, and achieve the goal of contributing about 70% of GDP by 2030.
