This event focuses on investment opportunities and logistics development in Vietnam. According to WWPC, in the current period, Vietnam has favorable political and economic conditions, competitive production costs and a young workforce, so it is receiving attention from many countries, in many fields such as renewable energy, technology and electric vehicles, etc. This is an opportunity to develop logistics.

According to WWPC, Vietnam has many advantages and potential for developing maritime transport, especially transporting oversized and overweight goods. In terms of geographical location, Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general are located in an advantageous area, a transit point for goods from other regions, suitable for oversized and overweight goods up to thousands of tons.

Mr. Wolfgang Karau, Chairman of WWPC, emphasized that every year, WWPC organizes conferences in different countries. This year, for the first time, the event is held in Vietnam, maritime transport enterprises around the world will recognize the development and investment opportunities in the field of oversized and overweight cargo in Vietnam. Recently, Vietnam is developing and planning to build many international seaports. In addition, the transport infrastructure is invested to meet the demand for transporting large packages serving the industry.

Sharing the same opinion as WWPC that Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City have the advantage of being located in the transit area of goods from all over the world, suitable for transporting oversized and overweight goods up to thousands of tons, Mr. Huynh Vi Phuc, General Director of A My Transport and Service Joint Stock Company, also acknowledged many shortcomings such as limited road infrastructure, seaports have not developed to their full potential… However, he also said that in the coming time, Vietnam’s seaports are fully capable of competing for oversized and overweight goods with other countries in the region such as Singapore, Indonesia,…

According to Mr. Phuc, businesses and experts expect that in the coming time, Ho Chi Minh City will invest in infrastructure and accelerate plans to build super transit ports such as Can Gio port, in order to attract goods from many countries. He added that up to now, the Vietnamese Government has continuously reformed and simplified procedures for import and export goods to attract investment. In addition, a series of projects on infrastructure in and out of seaports have attracted the attention of a number of major shipping lines such as BBC Chartering Wallenius Wilhelmsen, Air Canada Cargo, etc.

WWPC Chairman Wolfgang Karau: Vietnam is developing and planning to build many international seaports.

Previously, at the World Congress of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA World Congress – FWC) taking place from September 23 to 27, 2024 in Panama, the organizing committee officially handed over the right to organize FWC-2025 to the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA). VLA representatives received the scepter from the FIATA president to organize FWC-2025 which will take place in Hanoi from October 6 to 10, 2025. The theme of FWC-2025 is “Green and Responsive Logistics” with important discussions on the future of the logistics industry in a world increasingly aware of its environmental responsibility.

The fact that FWC-2025 will be held in Hanoi shows that  Vietnam is not only a destination for logistics businesses, but also a place where opportunities flourish and cultures connect to build a brighter, more sustainable future, as committed by VLA Chairman Dao Trong Khoa on the occasion of receiving the scepter to organize FWC-2025: “Sustainability is a core priority for Vietnam. Our commitment to a net zero emissions future has been demonstrated in our commitment at COP26, and we are continuing our efforts to build an economy that is both green and sustainable.”
